Got an excellent plan from a member here, and am 70% complete on the build.

Thanks for the help!

Alternate:

Two drawer legal-size metal file cabinet.

Install 3/4" (min) plywood or MDF on top of the cabinet, for the drill press to rest on.

Secure the board to the top side to prevent shifting.

Seal the wood, to prevent drippage or spillage, entering the wood.

Drawers suffice for storing drill press tools, and the like.

CAUTION: a mobile base, can result in the stacked unit tipping over, during transport.

Exercise caution when moving the stacked unit.

A low profile unit, and with the casters located to the sides of the cabinet base, provide more stability, vs casters directly under the cabinet base.

EX: Make or buy, equiv or suitable mobile unit.

While not plans, I found this photo somewhere on the internet.  Its not only a table for the bench-top drill press but by rotating the unit on the base, it functions more like a floor standing model.

I haven't completed my plans yet, but am working on a mobile table that will accommodate my bench-top drill press and hollow chisel mortiser back to back.  I'll post the plans once they're completed.

Hope this helps some, Don

Glad you got a usable plan.  Just thought I would show you the one I just finished for my shop.  It's 3/4 low-grade plywood, with 1/8" strips of poplar used for edge-banding the visible edges.  The case is all pocket-holed together.  The face frame is 3/4 poplar.  The drawers are 1/2" plywood box-jointed together with 1/4" MDF bottoms.  The drawer slides and casters are all from the Big Orange store and are as cheap as I could find.  Finish is 4 coats of Waterlox.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
