Rita,  Thanks!   The inlay is Bird's Eye Maple framed with Walnut and Gabon Ebony.  The appliques on the top and bottom of the fluted columns were bought online.  The are made of maple that I stained and finished with waterlox.  I used the same technique on another project.

That is beautiful work Jon!   Is that a inlay you have in the desk top?  What about the decorative details?   Pre-made, pre-stained and attached?
