I plan to use Minwax  pre-stain conditioner.  If I understand the directions I can apply stain within 30 minutes after wiping off the excess.  I wonder if I could wait longer --like up to 10 hours.

Yes, you can wait longer---

after 10 hours will be be fine.

The instructions---  ''...can apply stain within 30 minutes...''

means you don't have to wait an ''hour or more'',  to apply stain over the conditioner.

This is what I do but I dont use the conditioner but alote of foulks do but I put my stain on and and wait to the next day I put on a coat of ploy but the conditioner socks in to the wood and make's it easyer to stain

Jens,

Min-Wax product is effective.

Applying it, contributes to a more evenly stained end result.

It's a great product, for it's intended purpose.
