Hi Steven - Yes, I have a degree in Home Economics, believe it or not, and my training is in flat pattern clothing construction. I have worked in quilt shops, as a bridal store's alterations manager, and pretty much sewn it all in a home business I tried to get going for several years - working full time and having kids made it hard to try to do it all. This year I was finally able to quit my job and stay home with the kiddos. I've always been crafty and while following all the sewing blogs over the years, found Ana-white.com and the kreg jig. I've been dreaming of making furniture for a little over the year - it took some convincing with my husband and lotsa promises that I'd be careful and not lose my fingers and finally this Christmas I got some tools. We just plan to make simple furniture to replace the wal-mart book shelves and lower quality furniture in our home, a loft bed for our 5 year old, aspiring some day to make us a new bedroom set. The best part is my husband is helping me so we get to work side by side instead of the divide-and-conquer activities that usually accompany life with two preschoolers. :) Thanks for the friend request - I'll go check out your posted projects!

Hi Steven, thank you for extending your friendship.  I am honored and thrilled at the chance to exchange thoughts and ideas with projects.  I see that your are a craftsman in the stair building which is an art in its self.  I have done quite abit of home trim outs and always enjoy the percise cuts needed to acheive a quality set of stairs.  It reminds me of my current trade as a custom cabinet maker where accuracy will determine the final product with out having to resort to buckets of wood putty.  Thank you again and looking forward to working with you.
