I got the plans for this trunk from Rockler some time back. When a friend invited us down to his beach house this past summer, I got inspired to build him a "treasure chest." Every beach house needs a place for pirate's treasure, right? We took it down to his beach house a few weeks ago, and it looks right at home there near the shore.

Sounds great...thanks for the response.
William:
Beautiful job, but I have a question; Did you follow the Rockler plans to spec, or did you use the Kreg pocket holes? And if so, was it difficult to substitue in the pocket holes?
By the way, did you hear about the pirate who walked into a bar? The bartender said to him "you know you have paper towels on your head?" The pirate replied: "Aye, there is a bounty on my head"
Thanks, Marty
PS IF you used the pocketholes, then I know my next project!
That is a great looking trunk.
Beautiful job William, I really like it. I bet your friend was very happy when you took it down to his beach house. Thanks for sharing.
William, very attractive and excellent craftsmanship. Looks strong and mighty and fitting for a beach house or where ever it may land. Like the hardware applications along with the banding makes this a very eye catching and attention getting chest. Thank you for showing your work.
Arhg matey, you did a fine job and me loot will no doubt fill her up, but I'll be needing 25 more cause thar's more treasure in me storage houses (caves). Now get back to work and don't forget to swab the deck of your workshop.
Did they know before you build it or was it a surprise? Great job, btw!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
