Kreg Owners' Community

Hello all, starting my first Kreg project and hit a problem could use help on. Making a bedside table with an apron under the top. Each apron piece cut at 45 degrees each end to make a square which the top will rest on.  Would like the Kreg joints on the inside so don't show but don't seem to be able to get enough of the screw into the receiving piece due to the 45 degree angle. Any ideas if possible or need another type of joint?

need a better visual of your table.  Is the top only sitting on the apron or is the apron a wrap around the of the main structure?  What is the top material going to be?  is there room on the back side angled cleats?

Michael, thanks for the response. I am am testing it out in MDF but plan for final version to be in Oak. The top is routed at 45 degrees along all 4 sides. The 4 apron pieces are similarly routed at 45 degrees on the top and sides with a view to the only joins being seen are the corner edges. So I need to connect two apron pieces both cut to 45 degree edges. I ideally do not want the Kreg joints to show but unsure how to drill on the inside and ensure the screw enters the recieving piece far enough.

take a look at this video from Kreg, maybe it will help you.
