Steve and Ron, you guys are too easy on me.  I know you both can do the same thing.  Steve I have seen some of your work and it is second to none.  Just wish I could see some of your work more often.   Ron you can start anytime now as you have the router bits to start.  Wish both of you lived close by we could really make some sawdust.  I would put you both to work in a heart beat.  I got more work than I can do.  I thank you for your nice comments and approval of my work.

as steve and mike  wow as always great looking kitchen and inspiration to all of us no wonder i love raised panels red oak sure looks amazing the owner of house sure picked the right person like you for amazing work that you always do thank you for sharing your know how with all of us.

Thanks Mike.  Yes I figured in the allowance for the floor covering.  The owner also wanted a custom finished counter height of 38 inches as the owner's wife is tall.  I built the cabinet boxes at 37 and 1/4 inches to allow for the floor which will be tile.  They will be a 1/2" tile backer and the tile is 1/4 inch.  The granite is 1 and 1/2 inches thick leaving the finished height of 38 inches. 

In building these lower cabinets I also used all 3/4 inch cabinet grade plywood for the boxes including the back panel.  I inset a full 3/4 inch plywood top to allow for a excellent surface for the granite.  I used the 3/4 inch ply in the back as 1/4 inch ply is a little lite for this thick granite.  The boxes are all glued and kreg screwed.  There is just shy of 2000 screws in these boxes alone.  I used several in insetting the 3/4 ply into the the cabinet boxes.  The stone they chose is the type that must be fully supported and the type where it is full of "fishers" and must be held together with a fiberglass mat glued to the back of the granite slabs.  I inserted the ply to hide it as the granite counter tops has no self edge.

Currently I'm building the doors and drawers for the lower cabinets.  Then I will be building the upper cabinets which will be in the 40 inch range for height as the ceilings are 9 foot high.  While I am building the upper cabinets the floor tile will be laid as well as several other floor surfaces will be done at this time.

There is a three seperate circuits in the kitchen as well as a dedicated line for the dishwasher and one for the refrigerator.  Since kitchens always seem to be shy of plug in's this will surfice.  The code is two seperate circuits.  To add to this, each plug in is split in to having their supply from two seperate circuits.  Over kill maybe but the owner is a stickler for over building.

This is a big house and the electrical service is a 440 volt meter head split into two seperate panels of 220 amps each.

Very inpressive Jay.

I notice the floor is unfinished....do you compensate for things like ceramic or hardwood floor thickness ?

I wish I had your electrician wire my kitchen...am always looking for somewhere to plug into. No shortage in this area.
