This is the raised panel for the bar front in the kitchen I'm building. This is red oak and will be finished with clear coat satin lacquer over a light stain

Thank you Ken, I used CMT ogee # 891.502.11.  I'm using the same profile on the cabinet doors as well.  It makes an nice profile without the splinters of some of the other bits.  Each of the panels are free floating cut 1/4 inch less in width that the rails.  There is a severla 1/4 inche space balls in the groove of the stiles to prevent ratteling and keep the panel tight yet allow for expansion. The panels are cut with a simple cove panel raising bit also made by CMT.

Jay,

Great looking design.

Thanks for sharing.

What cutter design/profile did you choose for the raised panel?

Thanks

I really need some education on raised long panels, Jay. You sure make it look easy. one of these days I'm going to ask for some lessons from you, Jay. I might learn something great from a master craftsman like yourself. I really like your work, Jay.

Thank you Ron and David, this is one of the quickest ways to dress up an otherwise plain cabinet front or end. This one is for the front of the kitchen bar that faces the dining room area.  There are two end panels for the bar's end.
