That has got to be the prettiest chicken coop ever built. I love the woman's touch, and I'm sure the chickens appreciate it, too. :-)

Ms Dikeman, you did a wonderful job on your chicken coop and would really like to see you develop a sketch with dimensions as I am sure several others would be interested in paying for it.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I didn't really use plans. I based some of it off plans in the book 'chicken coops for dummies', but then made things up as I went along based on the materials I had and took measurements as I went along. I'd be happy to try to explain how I designed anything particular. I started with the basic frame which you could make any size you want, then figured the house design out based on where I wanted the doors to go.

My husband gave me one restriction on building this coop, which was to use up as much scrap from the garage as possible. He did not mention a time frame, or set any budget on paint or hardware, so this was my result. I had a great deal of fun with my scrollsaw and router. This is the coop in 'summer mode', with maximum ventilation for the Houston heat. There are removable panels for the main door to the 'house' and the sides of the nest boxes for cold months.
