These beds both have a reading light on the headboard and an inset shelf on the footboard. There are 3 large drawers under the bottom bed used for shoe storage.

Thanks, Tom.  I would love to share a plan but there never was one.  My wife gave me a little drawing and said would you build this for the girls?  I had never built anything like this.  It took me 6 months.  It is very sturdy and has lasted over 20 years.  It was built for a bedroom with 8 ft ceilings so the headboard and footboard had to be tilted just right to stand up.  Both are very heavy and hard to assemble siderails to the head/footboard by yourself.  I made the bed for my daughters and now it is used for the grandkids when they come to visit.  My daughters each wanted me to make beds for their kids so those are the two others posted.

Bert, nice work on the bunk bed!  Looks sturdy and well built.  Any chance you would share your plan or sketch?   Thanks!
