I just today saw the plan for the storage unit.  I wish I would have seen this before this past weekend.  I made a Kreg workspace.  It is simply a 1' by 2' piece of birch plywood with miter bars attached to the bottom.  I can slide it on my tablesaw (fence removed, and blade lowered).  It makes for a nice surface to drill pocket holes.  I was happy with the results.

Then I saw this plan...

Kreg Jig Storage Unit

Now I want a shelf on mine.  I think I'm going to use what I've already got as the top and then make the rest of it.

One question.  On the plan it says to use the MicroJig.  I don't yet have one.  Will the normal jig work?

To answer your question, yes it will work; I did have to use 1" screws though. My first one was made from scrap 1/2" plywood and will get good wood for the finished product. I want to store all the components from the Kreg Jig® Master System. The problem is that the Portable Base is 2 1/2" and will not fit in the drawer. I am going to make another and will increase the height to accommodate the Portable Base.   I may also make another drawer to hold the Screws.

I have made another with a deeper drawer and made it using 3/4" oak. It is not as light as the one made of plywood. I set it on my workbench and use the bench vice to hole it in place. If I could figure how to upload a photo I would add one.

To upload your pictue just click on the second item from the left a pictue frame it brings up your computer just point to where the file is on your computer select and send it up.

My set-up is way different.  My Kreg is just screwed to a 1x10 so it can live on my "clamp tree", along with my shop vac accessories, apron & tool belt.  Seems I was always using the clamps after drilling pocket holes.

Dennis,

Nice to see that you keep an ''ax'' close by.

Never know when one has to ''whittle'' a little off, to get the right fit.
