The top is solid walnut, The apron is walnut veneer, legs are poplar. I used Tung oil rub on the top and apron 3 coats so far, and the legs I used a pre-stain conditioner and then used a dark walnut stain but really not to happy with how they came out so I put a 2nd coat of stain with a red mahogany over the dark walnut, and have to say it looks better may put a 3rd coat, then tung's oil rub tell it looks deep and solid. That's what I love about walnut and hand rubbed finishes. You get that Sam Maloof walnut finish ( or at least hope to) He's my woodworking idol. Thanks for the Positive comments

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
