Thank you for allowing me to share this with my 16 year old grandson. I try to teach him everything that I know, but being young, he is always in a hurry.  I always try to warn him of possible accidents. I hope you are feeling some better by now. Good luck.

I hope you have a very speedy recovery.  It made me think about why companies do not employ the 'Saw-Stop' or even their own proprietary technology to make these accidents a thing of the past.

I too tried to remove a thumb recently when carving though. I forgot the cardinal rule which is to keep your hand out of the path of the knife. Same thing applies to table saws as you well know.

I am glad that you have your fingers!  I was very afraid of my table saw when I first got it.  I would make my husband do my cutting until I got some useful DVD's  from "Woodworker's Journal" it taught me how and to respect my saw.  I still have a healthy fear of it but I know how to use it safely.  I hope you mend well my friend!

Sorry man! It only takes a second no matter how experienced you are. Good thing here is that you can still could all your fingers there. Take it easy and heal fast. . . ;-)
