While working in my shop I listen to the radio, and it runs the gambit from country western, news radio, and classic rock, I was wondering what other people have on their radios.

Geoff: absolutely Pink Floyd anytime. :)

and all who said any power tool works fer me also.   OH, and definately a good timed Harley Davidson thump.....but, that is another story   :)

I have a mini boom box ( atleast that is what I think it is called) that I picked up at wal-mart for about $50.00. It has never been tuned to a radio station. It has a USB port that I have a memory stick plugged into it. So far the memory stick has about 430 songs on it. Songs THAT I LIKE!! I have also down loaded these songs into my van's entertainment system which will accept 1600 four minute songs. Have to tell you that is a great feature since one does not have to pack a suitcase full of CDs. Music for me has to have beat, melody and rhythm, other wise it is just noise. I do hate the slow draggy crap though, like Desperado by the Eagles.  I hate that song with a passion!

P.S. Hey Ray, you picked an interesting topic! Thun=mbs up!!

Oh I forgot the wood stove is the first thing that goes on
After reading all these comments I came to the conclusion that the only thing that matters is that we all have the same thing on our radios, SAW DUST.
That's really funny Ray.... but for me, it's only the speakers, cuz the radio is outside the shop.   But those speakers er covered!!!  hhaahahaha
I have an old clock radio from the eighties, when I do not have one of the power tool running the tunes are on. Oldies and some country. Most of time the tools are running and making to much noise hear the radio...
Sometimes it's the TV, Home and Garden TV usually, but mostly it's the radio tuned to country . . . until the race comes on . . . sorry NASCAR fans . . . I can't get into it :-)
I almost always have Stevie Ray Vaughn on in the background.
If my central vac isn't running or my air purifier not on, I usually listen to country or oldies.  However, Thursday-Sunday, I usually have the Golf Channel on.

I'd like to listen to ball games or classical music but the machine noises....

Does anyone have experience using the Kreg tools to build sound-deadening items such as enclosure for the dust collector or panels of acoustic foam to hang in varied locations to reduce the noise sound so I can enjoy the sweet sounds?

I am very surprised to not see much regarding the 40's & 50's being on the radio. That's about all I listen to.
Cooking Channel on my shop TV is what I use. I mostly listen, but look when I hear something interesting that I might want to prepare. I used to listen to music and sometimes I put on NPR if there is something I need to be informed about. I also used to have DIY Network on, but it repeats so often I found that I had memorized some episodes of "Yard Crashers."
