Kreg Owners' Community

Kreg posted this bench on Pinterest and I've spent about two weeks combing the Kreg site looking for it.  So if anyone has any thoughts it would be appreciated.  Thanks for taking the time.

Hi there. This photo was most likely first posted here in the Kreg Owners' Community, as that is where the majority of projects on our Customer Projects board originate from. I saved this image and conducted a Google image search, but was unable to identify the original source. All of the top results were just this image repinned on Pinterest.

If you're looking for project plans, we recommend Ana White (www.ana-white.com). All of her project plans are free and you can search by space, project type, etc. You can search the catalog here: http://ana-white.com/plancatalog. We have also listed a variety of online resources (blogs, websites, etc.) that offer free project plans, tutorials, and ideas here: http://kregjig.ning.com/forum/topics/project-plans-and-inspiration.

Thanks for the effort.  Much appreciated.

SLOAN, I do not have the plan,s for this bench , but by just looking at the photo , I would try making the longer end upright,s  18 " and the shorter ones 16 1/2 " !!!   The top I would make the longer ones 72 " and the shorter ones 69 " !!    Would also make the front section first to see if that will be high enough for what you want , if that is good I would also put a brace from the side to the top to help make it stronger !!!  Either one in the middle or one in each corner !!  I think you have an R3 jig so I would set the jig for 1 1/2" and use 2 1/2 " screws , hope this help,s , JIM !!

Just finished a bench for the front porch which is very similar. It is called a Emmerson Bench. Simple to build but took about a week, but very satisfying to have a project come out so good.

It is made from Western Red Cedar, 4 x 2" and as you can see the boards are stood on there ends with 45% mitres on the long board ends and held together with glue and two 2 1/2" pocket holes. 9 sections in all, all glued with 4 pocket holes between each section. Size 1500mm x 460mm or 58" x 18". You will need a swag (lot) of clamps and plenty of glue. I jointed 3 boards at a time x 3 then 2 lots of 3 boards then 3 lots of 3 boards.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone.  I threw this bench together over the weekend.  I used James' measurements for the sides.  Instead of different length boards for the top like the picture seems to show, I made them the same length.  I configured the sides to have an opposite arrangement and staggered the boards to give it added strength.

Hey Sloan,

Were you able to post a picture of your finished project?  Would love to see it :)

This is pre sanding and stain. SOme of it is reclaimed wood and that gives it it's color.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
