Hi Justine

Thank you for the comments. I had a lot of fun building the table.

Regarding the joints, I wish I would have trimmed them for a tighter fit. Didn't think about food and other things getting down in the groove. But my vacuum takes care most of it. The rest I pick out.

Regarding the stain...It's by Minwax called Early American. I didn't want to go too dark, so I only applied two coats and wiped them after only 30 seconds. I would have preferred it a little darker...But I'm happy with it. For the protective coating, again it was Minwax Satin Polyurathane. I didn't want a really strong shine. My next project I used semi gloss. I liked the shine it gave. Not too glossy.

Good luck in building your table. Looking forward to seeing your pics when done.

Hi Larry. Congrats on your table! Delighted to read it was your first project as I'm in the middle of building a similar table at the mo, also my first project. I'm wondering about my 2x9s for the top, if I should sand them at the edges a bit to make the plank joins more distinctive and create a slight groove. It looks like you might have done this? Wondering if it's a hassle to wipe clean like that? I do love the look. Also, can I ask what stain you used? Thanks.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
