Question...sounds like you're familiar with a number of different brands, which one would you recommend?

I've used several brands in personal use, testing, and in photo shoots - DeWalt, Hitachi, Craftsman, Skil, Bosch - but my personal preference is Bosch. I have both a Bosch plunge/fixed combo and a trim router. I also keep an old Crafstman around - it's about 30 years old. The best beginner intro pricepoint for a decent machine for a lot of folks is a Skil. Skil is owned by Bosch.
