I was wondering how long do you let wood dry out before using for in a project? Maybe tree been cut down been laying there for a while?

Charles,

I'd recommend getting up off your unlaxing chair, and prep some logs for drying.

it should be done before the warranty expires.

Ken spot on Charles as far as drying timber out .A joiners shop where I used too get my scraps from reckoned three years a good drying out period .You can work with green wood ,my brother in law done some turning with green timber ,but as ken said drying out is the order of the day ,go steady.

If it's a green tree, I'd let the logs dry out at least a couple years.

They'll need to be stacked off the ground, and with spacers between layers, so as to allow airflow, during the drying process.
