Because my wood shop shares space with a Honda Odyssey and a Ford F-150, everything in there needs to be mobile and tuck-away-able. I also don't have enough wall space for a mounted pegboard. So, I made this mobile pegboard cabinet with shelves and drawers.

I made the drawers and box using Kreg Pocket Holes/Screws... this is my first attempt at building a simple drawer, and the value of "squareness" was driven home!

Mark, Great job and thanks for the inspiration. I ran by Harbour Freight today and picked up one of the dollys, there up to 16.99, but still a bargain. I hope to make a smaller version of what you designed, but waist high.

KregRep: I used the coarse thread screws... live & learn, eh?

What a marvelous idea. We all have space limitations and are looking for ideas. I'll try to remember this and consider something mobile next time I'm expanding. Good work. Looks good.

Mark, yes... MDF being especially prone to weak joints... I'm not sure I would recommend using 1/2" mdf for drawers. 3/4, definitely, and 1/2" plywood definitely... but not sure about 1/2" MDF. Did you use our 3/4" fine thread screws? Fine thread is traditionally used only for hardwoods as coarse provides better strength.

BTW, I used 1/2" MDF and the Kreg Micro Jig, but I still wasn't particularly happy with the way the MDF responded. Part of my problem was that I had trouble squaring the pieces, but I still had trouble with the sides of the MDF "pushing out" ... pocket holes may not be the best choice when working with thinner MDF stock...

Thank you. It sounds like they work well.

I built a simple box (using pocket holes, of course) and the drawers rest on the panels. I put self adhesive plastic strips (Rockler) on the bottoms of the drawers to let them move smoothly... no drawer hardware on this one...

Looks good. How do the drawers hold up?
