Pontoon Boat Project (Carried over from Facebook)

So my friend Odin Gilbertson wanted to redo his pontoon boat. Since most on the water are of the aluminum construction variety, he thought he would do his differently. He always wanted a pontoon boat in the style of the old sailing vessels, so he decided he would construct his deck and rails out of wood. I then introduced him to the Kreg Jig. He was admittedly a little skeptical, but I reassured him this would be the way he should go. Since the cradle I finished was done using the Kreg Jig, he… Continue

Dimensional Furniture- Piece #2

Well I was able to complete my second piece of my office suite last weekend. My hutch came out pretty decent and matches the desk nicely. All of it was built using standard pine lumber from the box stores. Like the desk I ripped the the 2x4s in order to have more wood for less cost and also be less chunky. All the joints are made with Kreg pocket holes.…

Don't Know-Howe to Kregs WOW Know-Howe

A rather “windy” comment for an amateur. I’m proud to be a member of the “Kreg-Jigs” Pro-Am group.

I retired from the world of computer software in 2001. Upon retiring, I got involved part-time with my church and school with networking and useful hardware & software packages. In 2007/2008 they had assumed the responsibility of their day to day activities, and I was expelled. So again, I was among the retired and facing our own DIY’s and “Honey Do’s”.

Drill Press Stand

Craigslist can be a wonderful thing, when it comes to procuring quality tools at a low price. In this economy, who doesn't love a good deal? (By the way, I've noticed you can't ever find a used Kreg Jig. It seems no one wants to part with theirs.) A while back I found a Delta bench top drill press in my area for $55. The pictures looked impressive enough, so I made a phone call. Within minutes, I became a proud owner of a drill press! I picked it up that afternoon after work and shoved it into… Continue

TV Stand Complete

I was sick for 2 weeks. Upper resp infection, not fun, which slowed me down on doing anything. But finally snapped out of it and finished the project.

Viking Cradle

Throughout my paintball career, I've met some really nice people. Two of the nicest people ever were on my paintball team, Kristina Jager and Odin Gilbertson. These two married years back and were trying very hard to have a child together. They had two unsuccessful tries before, but this third one stuck. Gabriel was doing fine and on his way this last April. I wanted to celebrate their success the best way I knew how.

Kristina and Odin do OK, but they could use any help friends and… Continue

the Workstation

One day at work, my boss suggested that our concepting room needed a workstation. A table devoted to the marketing/art departments to help on conceptual projects to bring new products and packaging designs to market. We already had a large section of countertop in our photo studio, and I suggested we could use that as a table top. The original idea was then to purchase a couple of short file cabinets to place underneath it like a desk. However, the price tag on a file cabinet like that turned… Continue

My Kreg Journey

My name is Don Grubish, and this is my story.

One Saturday morning I was letting the TV keep me company while I prepared breakfast. I flipped through the channels, bypassing cartoons and news talk shows. I came across an informercial for the Kreg Jig, and thought, "whatever... time to make my eggs and hashbrowns." The more I listened to the testimonials and demonstrations, the more I found myself paying attention.

I kept thinking to myself, "well, that looks pretty easy. I… Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
