"It is a good book and helps to point out the different possibilities with pocket hole joinery. I'd like to see a volume 2. Although with more and more free plans available online, not sure how much a second book would sell."
"Showing off the joint does display a bit of craftmanship. Don't think it is "stupid". Utilizing different wood plugs helps to make projects unique and instills pride in one's work. Also don't think of it as a…"
"I have built an outdoor cedar chair with plans from the Kreg site and have no issues with the cedar being too soft to hold the screws. I think using longer screws into the 4x4 would be plenty strong. Make sure you use the outdoor "blue"…"

"Did you use any good cabinet books for your project? I'm looking to build shop cabinets as practice for kitchen cabinets and have been trying to find a good reference book. Looks great by the way. Did you use all plywood for the boxes?…"

"Also make sure that your torque when driving in the screws is not too strong. If you over drill the screw it will of course come out the opposite side, as well as learning the "feel" of when the screw is set properly. Sometimes with the…"
"David, very nice, it looks as if it belongs there. I especially like the nice clean build with enough charm and character to demand your attention. It is a method of displaying articles without over powering them at the same…"
David I have two books that are worth looking at and or using as reference. They are Cabinet Making and Mill Work by John L Feirer it is the 5th edition . The publisher is Glenco Publishing from Mission Hills, Calif the date is 1988 This one is near 1000 pages and deals with not only cabinet making but mill work as well..
The better one is: MODERN CABINET MAKING by William D.Umstattd. It was published by The Good Heart-Willcox Co published date of 1996. This is good reference book and just shy of 800 pages. Both are hard backed and look good on the libary shelf too. It is pretty detailed as to building cabinets in the modern day world.
