"I'm not a fan of the automax clamps.  I prefer the old school style that you adjust via a knurled screw on the END of the handle (similar to original vise grip brand).  Even tho the automax clamp is supposed to be automatic, it seems…"

Automax clamp

I recently purchased an auto max clamp. But when I started using it I realized that it does not work as advertised. Anyone else had that problem. I have to readjust the clamp every time I use a different thickness of material.

"Nice job, Dan.   It looks like we have some of the same tools - the Skil drill press and the Delta table saw.  I went with a Craftsman 10" compact sliding miter saw rather than the DeWalt.  The size and price of the Dewalt is…"

"Chris,  My 618 is primarily used in my table, and I use it for most everything, including edge treatments.  It will get pulled out of the table when I use my dovetail jig.   Most of my edging bits are ¼" shanks, so have no…"

"I've got the DW618. You will not be disappointed. If you can, spring for the kit that includes the plunge base. If I am not mistaken, the 618, Bosch 1617 and Porter Cable 890 share a base mounting pattern, so when it comes to mounting it on a…"

"I still see the lower price on Amazon.com. The Dewalt should do you just fine. Its a good size for multiple tasks. Hint: stick with 1/2" router bits. The best advice I've heard for those wanting to buy a bit set is to buy a low cost set,…"

I no longer have the DW745 and broke down the stand to build a different one for Delta 36-725. The dimensions were 60 inches wide by 22 inches or so deep. Height I always try to match my workbench which is at 36 inches high. Hope that helps.
