You hit the nail on the head Veronica... or rather the self-tapping screw with the square driver bit.

Great job. Sorry to hear about your family issues but what you're doing is a great way to keep you occupied. As a female leader in corporate america, I'm always stressed about something. Finding this site and buying my Kreg Jig has been the best thing that's happened to me in long time. Helps me relieve stress!

The base and the top are made out of the same oak material as the rest of the stand....this was originally some short sections of oak stair handrail that I ripped down to rectangular stock. I believe it was roughly 1-1/2" x 2-1/4". I then biscuited them all together to make the panels..
I appreciate the compliments.
Thanks very much.

Great work, what did you use for the base and the top

I appreciate it.
I've kind of jumped into building a lot of stuff lately because my wife left me august 7 of last year. she finalized the divorce oct. 2.
she has my 2 little boys. they are nearly 60 miles from me and their home now. i just can't get used to living without them. if i don't build stuff i usually just sit in a freakin' dark room and cry like a baby.
at least building stuff keeps me busy. i like to build things for people....it makes folks happy. i round up material that would normally go in the dumpster at work and try to make something nice out of it for friends. never really make any money off of anything....never really try to.
I like this site because you get lots of ideas from people and see different ways people do things. i'm glad i found this place. it helps. i'm no expert woodworker - i just cut stuff out and stick it together until it turns into something.
thanks for the kind words. i really do appreciate it.

Yup. That's one of the best surprises. I know we plan for it to be good. But when it's great it's still seems to come as a surprise -- that it's THAT great!

I believe it's cherry (plywood).
A friend of mine had a couple of 4' x 4' sheets of it and gave it to me. I believed for a long time that it was mahogany until I hit it with some Minway Natural stain and that redness exploded like a light coming on. That's all that's on here....I stained the oak and the cherry with the same stain and 3 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane.
You ever build something and then step back and look at it and go - man....I can't believe I did that?

This is beautiful work, Kevin. Really impressive. Love the color contrast. What are the center panels?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
