playing around with raised panels. i was told you (meaning me) cant make oval and diamond raised panels. well guess what, i did. haha

hi ray. i did glue up the boards. i cut the border pieces long meaning the ends where they meet so when i route them i dont slip and make a mistake, then i cut them to finished size. try some, they arent really that hard, just intimaditing at first. when i was working as a contractor i showed the pics to our cabinet maker and he said he wont make them, dont know why. i think the diamond looks real good on the bow cabinet. that is my favorite project, he told me how big for the bows and said do what you want. i really like to use a beading bit, love the profile and got creative with the tops and used a raised panel bit to soften the edge, kind of looks like crown molding. got the dart cab pic, thanks

They look great, I see that the oval one is two panels glued together. are they cut like an ordinary raised panel door or are they just an oval with a profile routed on the outside edge and a rabbit on the inside to hold the panel, either way they look great
