I made this oak lamp table today in 2.5 hours. (I still need to stain it) I have never enjoyed working with oak before (too unforgiving), but it was easy with pocket-hole screws.

I buy my oak planed. No planer in my future yet.

I used to have a Black-n-Tan dog that was my chipper shredder, like your retriever. Moko, the mutt pictured above, is much too lazy to bother with wood scraps.

Nice lamp table . Do you plane your oak from rough sawed or do you buy it already planed. I have a chesapeake Bay retreiver That helps me. Every piece of scrap wood that hits the floor she packs off and chews it up. she likes to lay right were I'm working, in a pile of saw dust.

>Is that your helper laying on the sofa?

Yes the photo is shamelessly framed to show off my “shop assistant.”
