Here is the mini-mill I built for capping trees into three or for sided cants. This mill uses 24" bar and with the guide rail board I use makes it easy/fun to use.

Bob,

I always wear dust masks and I have them for friends/neighbors.  I keep reminding them. but they always seem to have an excuse for not putting them on.

All the sawdust I get from milling goes into my neighbors compost piles.  He returns tomatoes from his garden.   It's a good trade.

Hoy Jerry

How about a bloody dust mask mate !!!

You are lucky to have such interesting neighbors, when I am using my thicknesser I always think my neighbors are going to tick me off about the noise.

My wife was out shopping one day and returned telling me she could hear me and the thicknesser working away from up the end of the street!

My saw dust is also recycled into compost, haven't had any adverse effects yet, and it appears to be good for breaking up the clay based soil in our gardens.

Regards

Robert Brennan

and continue to have fun.

Thanks Ron,

All my neighbors come to visit when I'm milling at home, they like getting the cap pieces.  I never have problems getting rid of scrap pieces.  I have one neighbor who comes down with his recycle bin and sweeps up all the saw dust I make for his compost pile.  Nothing goes to waste around here.  The mini-mill is very a useful unit.  It allows me to custom cut trees to pieces I can finish machining in my wood shop.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
