Those black squares (actually, rectangles) are blocks that work with the Klamp Trak.  The track surface is at or below the surface of the table.  The blocks have a t-bolt that fits in the track and spaced where you want them.  They serve to keep the work piece square when it is clamped and screwed.  The photo below illustrates how they work:

Very well organized and easy to find what you need.  I think I may need to make this for my Kreg.  Looks real good.
