BTW: I noticed a house being torn down nearby. I stopped by and asked about buying some of the material. For $35, I got about 10 or 12 boards of cypress (2 1/2" x 7" x 16') and long-leaf pine (2" x 6" x 12')....enough for at least 4 or 5 more gates.

Thanks Don. I have already received orders for gates from three neighbors!

I have done many screen doors using pocket sv=crews and they do well in soggy NW

As a general rule, I'd always say that anytime someone (including myself) can see the pocket holes, then plug them up.

Gorgeous gate, though. I'm highly impressed. You must make the neighbors jealous... lol

Yes, Robert, I agree. I'm going to plug all pocket crew holes.

Several years ago I put up railings on a porch for a friend using pocket hole joinery (not with Kreg Jig at that time I did not have a Kreg). The material was pressure treated pine and deck screws. This was maby 4-5 years ago and no problems yet. Looking at your picture my only concern would be the screws at the bottom facing down the pocket would hold water.

I have not, until now, built any exterior item using pocket joinery. I don't know how well this will hold up. Has anyone else done an exterior project like this?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
