Hi, John.

The hardware is available through Rockler, either as individual pieces or as a package. I got the entire package.

Bravo,

Older style military foot lockers, have similar features.

Check with an Army Surplus store, in your area.

Careful removing the fasteners (rivets, and the like,) (so as to avoid damaging the parts.

Use a mini grinder, akin to a Dremel tool,  carefully remove the peened rivets heads, and press out the remaining pins, using a mini-punch.

Hi BGT,

Thanks for the comment. I agree, old hardware would be a great addition! I got both the plans and the hardware for the trunk from Rockler.com. And, I should mention that the wood came from quartersawnoak.com, a sawmill just down the road from me here in NC.

Beautiful work, I love these trunks.  Would love to either fake or find some old corners and latches/hinges etc from an old busted trunk and put on a newer version.  Do you have any plans for this you could share?  Sketchup, etc?
