William,

As I stated in the description. It was made out of 99.9% repurposed (recycled) materials that I obtained from watching the "Free" section on my local Craigslist. The frame itself is made of 2" x 4"s, the wall panels are simply 1/4" plywood that is stapled on with my Bostich stapler. The trim is made from pallet wood (you can usually find furniture stores and distributors that have a plethora of the longer 1" x 4", 6"s that are willing to give them to you for free if you don't find them on your local Free section of CL). The flooring inside is made of several pieces of scrap 3/4" plywood. I did have to purchase the shingles and the drip edge but again I was very thrifty. Usually if you go to your local Lowe's they will have some discontinued items (usually stored somewhere away from the normal shingles that are stocked). I got three bundles of dimensional shingles and one bundle of the three tab for the cap for $5.00 per bundle. And I even caught the drip edge on clearance for $1.87 per stick (it only took three sticks). I used some door hinges for the doors that I had leftover from changing all the hinges on our home. I didn't have any handles so I paid for those but again I caught some on the "discount rack" at Lowe's. So basically the entire thing was built for less than $30.00 (plus the gas to go pick up the wood which in my truck that will pass everything but a gas station LOL). So if you include the gas I suppose I have about $40.00 invested in the entire project.

Great way to store kayaks! Mine hangs in the garage, but I might have to consider something like you have built. What materials did you use?
