The top of the bench is two layers of 3/4 material sitting atop the cabinets. I mounted my jig atop a piece of MDF that I dadoed so that the total height to the surface of the jig was level to the two layers of material. I then notched the top to fit the jig like a puzzle piece and notched the second layer to accommodate the MDF base.

Sorry Bradleyman, but I don't have a plan for this project i just built it from an image in my head of what I wanted as an end result. I described the process in detail through the 4 photos if that helps.
