The top of the bench is two layers of 3/4 material sitting atop the cabinets. I mounted my jig atop a piece of MDF that I dadoed so that the total height to the surface of the jig was level to the two layers of material. I then notched the top to fit the jig like a puzzle piece and notched the second layer to accommodate the MDF base.

Hey Jim thanks for sharing this wonderful idea. Always hard to find a place to handle large pieces. Will be retrofitting my bench in the near future. Thanks again

Good idea, Jim. I have flush-mounted the keyhole plate on my workbench that accepts a Kreg clamp to hold things flat on the bench surface. I'm considering retro-fitting my bench to accept your idea.

Wow, this is great. So far I have thought of 4 things that I will use this on. Obviously the Kreg Jig, then a grinder, a drill press and a vise. What a great use of bench space. Thanks Jim.
