Oak/Mahogany TV Stand

This is a tv stand I built this week (first week of Oct. '09) for a friend of mine. It is built mainly from squaring off several short pieces of oak stair handrail that could not be sold due to it being only 4' long. I glued up (with biscuits) the top and bottom panels (and I don't have a jointer, so there was a good bit of sanding involved later), and still didn't really have a plan as to how I was going to build this thing. Earlier this week I guess I got inspired and just started making sawdust. This was the result. As of these pictures, it still needs to get a few coats of polyurethane, but the stain alone on this wood really brought out a ton of color. Thanks for checking out my project.
