Ok, Michael, here's my collection after the first week. I'm going to start ordering the pen kits online. The guy's in the woodworking store are starting to give me a hard time for showing up EVERY day. LOL

When turning, I ALWAYS were a face shield---ALWAYS!!!

Taken on that safety measure, since day one.

In my shop

EYE PROTECTION REQUIRED-

NO EYE PROTECTION

NO ENTRY!

It's a good practice to ALWAYS were some form of eye protection.

''The AOA, safety experts and eye doctors believe wearing proper eye protection could have lessened the severity or even prevented 90% of these eye injuries.''

(Helpful info contained herein).

http://www.aoa.org/eye-protection.xml

Most hardware stores and home centers sell eye protection, and are relatively inexpensive.

The style with a partial warp-around feature, that shields the eyes, are more readily available &  popular today.

FastCap Bifocal Safety Glasses

Some are available with ''bifocals''---1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3X magification.

Polycarbonate lens material that is light weight, impact and scratch resistant.

Thanks hugh ,plastics not too bad hugh take it slow.I did have one explode on me [needed a stiff drink after that one] for that reason hugh wear eye protection when working plastic.Look forward to the photos go steady.

Stunning work, Michael. I've just turned my first three pens this week. I've always loved the pens and it is cheap entertainment. Still working up the nerve to work with the plastics.
