Kreg Jig made book case

This was a bookcase made solely with Kreg Jig pocket holes. Well wood too! This was the largest wood project I have ever attempted. Really the only wood project I have ever attempted. Came out very nice and was reallitively easy to make. Took me about 4 days to make with about 4 hours a day. There was a lot of thinking time in there as this was my first project. I read somewhere that done was better than perfect and that sped things up. I also laid out the plans with a 3D modeling program (Rhino) and made all my cuts exact. It took me a day to lay it out, but the extra time in planning was WELL worth it and probably saved me days worth of rework. Can't wait to make another!

Future plans are one more book case, a table to go between them and possible a computer desk to match.

Thanks for the positive response. I added some pictures of the finished product. Came out very nice, the wife and I are very pleased. She was very happy, and that's good. She's glad now that I talked her out of the "made in china" walmart book case.

Great project, Aric! Especially for your first 'real' project! A beautiful bookcase which will no doubt be in your family for a long time! Thanks for sharing the in-progress photos all the way back to the designs. Is there a 'finished' shot after the poly was applied?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
