EDITING THE FRONT PORCH!

My husband and I had to re-do the porch because it was sagging and weak in several spots. Our objective was just to replace the surface boards. Once part of the porch was demolished, we couldnt believe what was supporting the porch. Went online and got free deck plans. I used my Kreg jig instead of toe nailing wherever I could. Used pocket holes in between joist (kinda like fire stops in a wall) so we could keep somewhat with the style of the house. Our porch/ deck feels so sturdy!!!(The part we're finished with anyway)

Wow what a huge project. Thanks for the great pictures as you project progresses towards the a finished porch you will be able to enjoy for years to come. Looks great, you and your husband did a great job.

Thanks for the support you guys!!! This has been the hardest project we have ever done. I am really still a bit of a tom-boy but if you want to hear me scream like a little girl, send me in some ones crawl space or attic( anywhere with spiders). By pre-drilling the holes with the pocket jig, I was able to sit on top of the joists and with the help of the right angle clamp, screw my other support boards to them. Of course when someone had to go under the porch, it was my hubby most of the time!!

Wow, Jocelyn! An amazing transformation. Thanks for posting all of the great in-progress shots so we can see HOW it was done.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
