Cat Planter

I made this Cat Planter for my mom and dad for Christmas this year. It could also be used for a magazine rack. The head and tail are both on springs and move up and down. I used the Kreg Jig to put it together.

Thanks Claude.  I haven't started working on the dog yet but I did make a paper cutout of what I want it to look like.  Now I just need to transfer it to the wood and start cutting it out.  I haven't had much time to spend on it and I hope to start on it soon.  I will post as soon as I get it done.  thanks so much for the nice comments!  :)

Great idea and design Lorrie, cool details on the feet and springs. She looks adorable with those colors and eyes. It's a unique and beautiful gift to your parents, I'm sure they love it. Great job and looking forward to the dog planter.

Thanks Leslee.  I was going for a whimsical look.  I thought the feet were cute and would set it apart from anything I have seen.  It was harder than I thought in my head. LOL  I did have fun creating it and making it come to life.  I was going for a cartoon look.  I'm happy that you like it.  :) Now that it is finished, I miss seeing it in the garage! LOL  I will have to make one for me now. :) I will try to make a dog next.  Thanks for the nice comments. :)

 Lorrie,

I like your cat planter. It looks really cute. I think the paws are a nice touch they remind me of Slvester the cat on Looney Tunes. I'm sorry to hear you are sick, Lorrie. I hope you will feel better soon. It has been cold here where I'm at.

Hi Mick,

Happy New Year!  Yes, it was a lot of work for me.  That's because I am still pretty new to these things.  I learned a lot and made it up as I was going.  Glad you liked it.  I have a paper pattern now so the next one should go better.  I'm sick now but hope to get back out in the shop when I am feeling better.  Thanks for the nice comments!  Have a great day! :)
