Hi Justin, I used a home made paint recipe for chalk paint that I found online (1 part baking soda and two parts flat latex paint).
You apply with a brush it goes on thick and sand smooth (150 or 200 gr is fine) when its dry followed by Minwax Paste Wax and buffing with a soft cloth.
Try it out on some scrap wood and see for yourself if you like it.
Thanks for looking
Jim

What type of finish did you use for the outside of the buffet?

Besides helping us out with the plans (website?) how about an article on your experience in reclaiming the pallet wood?
Thank you for sharing!

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
