You might say I cheated a little with this project, but I don't feel it suffered at all. We don't have a walk-in source for Kreg screws here, so I used #10 treated screws. There was no pressure treated lumber outside of the framing so stainless fasteners weren't necessary. It's difficult to see in this picture, but the hand rail is actually built up from a 2x4 on edge, then a piece of 5/4x6 on the flat, then a beveled piece of 2x8 flat on that. I will see if I can post a picture of that. I guess what I'm saying is that there was plenty of opportunity for fastening so the joints were tight. The posts on this project are 8x8 Red Pine..

Wow, I've never seen the Kreg Jig used for such 'structural' work before. What was your feeling for how strong of a joint it created with that large of workpieces? Did you use the biggest screws possible? Did you use the Blue-Kote weather-resistant or stainless screws from Kreg?

Beautiful work by the way.

Installed the railings, the stairs, the arch, and the hand framed roof with my Kreg Jig. It was the first project it was used on.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
