My workshop is my two car garage, with no cars but it's packed with tools and woodworking projects. I really need to build a wood storage rack of some sort. At the present time it's all leaning against walls, making it difficult to sort. I'd like something that's mobile, large storage on the bottom and small above. I've invisioned several ideas in my head but I just wanted to post this and see if any of y'all had some good ideas. Thanks

Wes

Have you thought of a loft or dont you have much room overhead

No can do. Need to leave the attic door accessible, have a kayak hanging, then the garage door opener..my ceiling is cluttered too!

here is a link for a panel cart you may like.  I am thinking about making something also to help keep my lumber from warping.http://plansnow.com/dn3106.html

Bruce, that's pretty good idea, thanks for the link! I too have issues with ply getting a slight bow in it. Would really help when cutting plywood solo.

Hi Wes,

I too was in need of more sheet-goods/cut-off storage for my shop (designed as 2-car garage) and went with the Rack/Cutoff Station show in the July 2011 Wood Magazine (#205).

I have found it to be able to hold quite a large amount of stock as well as being mobile.  I haven't used it for breaking down plywood sheets as yet, but it seems like it would do that okay as well.

Here's a link to the online plans, etc.

Hope you find what you need.
