I am currently building a fairly small bed frame for my Grandaughters doll.  The problem is: the bed is kind of narrow, and when I get to the point of joining the last 2 sections, the drill I am using is too big to fit between the rails at the correct angle. I am using a Porter Cable cordless drill. I went and bought a shorter bit that Kreg makes, but still not enough room. Is it at all possible to hand screw in the screws, or is that impossible. I know I could buy an angle drill, but they are quite expensive. Do I have to bite the bullet, or does anyone have some ideas.

Can you drill the holes before you join them (drill from other side) and if so then put it together and hand screw it,You would have the hole predrilled anyway.Any picture might help out
Yes you can hand screw the screws - I do it from time to time myself when I can't get in there with my drill or am using soft wood like cedar.
Click here for how to use a ratchet or dogbone wrench to get pocket screws into tight places. It is not very hard to do by hand.
Well Ron you ant the only one with that problem I ran in to that when I put the tops on the dresser’s but if you use three of theses silver things that come with your drill I thank they call it a extension for your drill and the long bit that come’s with your Kreg jig it should gave you the play you need to get the screw in but you my have to run it in a little then out then all the way in. What would be sweet is a universal for your drill bit like they have for mechanics have for there tools.

Flexible shafts that bend are available. They fit in the drill's chuck and cost under $10.00 at HD or Lowes.

Black and Decker also make a VERY handy tool called "rota-driver" for about $30.00 or so at same outlets. It is rechargeable and the drill head rotates in different configurations to the motor allowing you to access a multitude of problem drilling and driving situations. I love mine. Go to B&D's website for more info. Hope this will solve your dilemma.

NB-the B&D roto-driver is low on torque....
