OK, so now I've used the Rip-Cut a few times, and I've noticed a couple of things.

First, the base seems to deflect a little bit when I connect it to my saw. I am using a Dewalt circular saw, and the front of the base has ridges and grooves on it. When I connect the Rip-Cut, I've noticed that the plastic base is deflected slightly and not flat. If I look at the base of the Rip-Cut, the left-most plastic tab is bent downards from the other two. It feels like it's laying flat when I cut, but the cuts aren't always true to vertical so the saw must be wandering slightly when cutting.

Also, I've found it difficult to keep on line when cutting close to the limit (ie when cutting close to 24" width). Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for keeping the saw on line?

To be honest, with my current project I've used my old hardboard saw guide more than I've used the Rip-Cut.

Thank you for posting on our online commnity.  I will try to assist you with this issue.

We have found that with some saws that do not have a smooth front edge like you are referring to can deflect from the base some if the set screws are overtightened.  Normally you would think the tighter they are the stronger the hold; but If overtightened they actually will cause the saw to pull away from the saw sled.  These set screws need to only be just snug against the base plate of your saw.

As far as the left tab being off from the other two, it is possible that it could be a little bit off due to the molding process but it should not be very noticeable.  Once the jig is on your piece of material the weight of the saw should keep them all flat.  However, if for some reason you received one that is off by a great deal, this could be causing the issues you are experiencing with it being off slightly.  If you wish you, can send me your mailing information in a private message and I would be more than willing to send you a replacement.
