The plastic threshold on my walk in door to my work shop has been broken by my moving my air compressor in and out of the shop and needs repair. I cannot replace just the broken plastic, it just is not available. I can make a new threshold out of a 2X6 and to make the moving of the air compressor (and other wheeled objects) easier but to do that, I need to rip a bevel along one edgeof the 2X6. Ideally, a band saw of sufficient capacity would make short work of the task at hand, but I do not have a band saw nor do I know anybody that has. The diagonal cut that I need to make is 4" and my table saw will only cut 3". Has anybody got any suggestions?

I f you have a planner I think you can make a bevel jig from say plywood  and keep running the 2x6 stock through it ,Im sure it would work.
yes, i have a planner, but alas, it is still in the box
If you have access to a jointer I would set the fence at the angle you want and make several passes.
I guess I just had to think about it for a while to come up with a workable solution. I set my table saw at the dsired angle and at max cut and passed the work piece through. I then clamped the piece vertically in a vise and finished the cut with a hand saw. I then used my belt sander to remove any saw marks and it was task accomplished!!
