Kreg Owners' Community

I apprechiate all the input on this subject. I am moving up from a piece of plexiglass mounted to my router to a new Kreg system. Santa Claus is bringing me the Kreg top, fence, switch, and casters. I am building a cabinet to work with this system. My next decission is weather I should add a mechancal lift system. I use a Porta Cable and Frued router. I am thinking a lift woud be the icing on the cake. What do you all think? Thanks again: Philip Odenweller

Hi Phil - The Freud 1700 series and the Freud FT 3000 both have lifts built in. I have had the 1700 (2-1/4 HP) in a table for a little over a year with good results. Just picked up a 3000  (black friday special for $200 :) ) and need to build another table to hold that bad boy. I think some of the newer, smaller Porter Cable's may have built in lifts but I'm not sure on those. Both the large and small Triton routers have built in lifts.

Ihave a rockler table with a pc 893 fixed base that does adjust from the top, you can also change bits and the chucks from above the table, only ever had one problem with this set up but it was a real easy fix. the pc combo kit included a tool that allows you make the adjustments thru a hole in the router plate, you can nlock the router thru one hole to adjust it through the other one.
