Kreg Owners' Community

Hello. I am new to this site. Why are the project photos poor quality? Am I missing something?

The pictures are taken by the members who build them and many will just be snaps for reference (like mine) rather than professional images for a catalog.

I have to agree with Andy.  My photos were taken with a cell phone, at night, with poor lighting in the shop. It's basically what I had handy at the time. I think the thing with most of the photos on the site is that we are wood workers, hobbyists and DIYers, not necessarily photographers.  (Worst part is that my wife IS a photographer.)

Sad thing is Tim I am a photographer as well (www.andrewharrisphotography.com) but i rarely bother to set my projects up for a proper shot and just snap them with my phone too.

Perhaps I should start doing it.

Hello Rob.  Thank you for posting.  Like Andy and Tim mentioned, all of the project photos within the Kreg Owners' Community are submitted by users.  They are not regulated by Kreg or Ning, and not required to be any certain quality, size, file type, etc.  With that in mind, we try to focus on the project being photographed, rather than the quality of the photo itself.  Unfortunately, in busy (and sometimes messy) garages, shops, and project-building spaces, photos can easily become blurred, dark (due to poor lighting), and so on.  Hopefully you can understand this and it doesn't deter you from browsing the thousands of project photos our Community has to offer, and enjoying seeing what others have created.
Thanks, and have a great day!
