Can anyone help me with the drill bit depth for 3/4" faceframes for an older jig that does not have the nifty gauge on the top to show the depth?

I would love to have a chart for different thicknesses of wood too...but the 3/4" would be super!

Thanks,

Hello John;

I just measured the depth settings for the various wood thicknesses and made a startling discovery. According to the depth setting scale on the snap lock jig, the setting for the 1 1/8" wood is 1/16th of an inch deeper than for the 1 1/4" wood. The settings for the 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 measure the same. Anyway, here are Kreg's recomended settings:

1/2" = 3 1/4", 5/8 = 3 1/2", 3/4" = 3 9/16", 7/8 = 3 11/16", 1" = 3 29/32",  1 1/8" = 4 3/16", 1 1/4" = 4 1/8", 13/8" = 4 5/16", 1 1/2" = 4 5/16".

The measurements are from the bit shoulder to the collar . Hope this helps.
