I currently have two special projects to build. One is a Hope Chest for my 19 year old daughter. I have been promising her a hope chest for 10 or so years. I have looked at plans and picture of hope chests for years and I finally asked my daughter for some help. I asked her to look around and find a check she liked and I will build it. Finally she found one and I am going to do my best to make. A precision router table would be of great help because my daughter wants moulding and rounded edges on her hope chest. I have the router but no table for precision work.
I also want to make my son a belt display for his growing collection of Tae Kwon Do belts. He is currently preparing to test for his orange belt, the fourth of about 12 or 14 he intends to work for. His goal is to learn TKD well enough that he can teach it to others some day. The Router table would help me round over the edges throughout the entire project to hold all of his current and future belts.

What kind of router do you have? Is it one that is easily attached to a table? If so, you're half-way there.
check out my page for some photos of a router table I built and also some blanket/hope chests. Maybe I can give you some insight.
