Permalink Reply by John Ricker on September 26, 2010 at 9:43pm If you Drill a 19/64 hole in a piece of metal then put the 5/16 dowel in your drill and spin it through the hole you drilled it will then be the correct size. This method woks good for making dowels round cause most come oval shaped.

Dowels would make it a lot easier, but I cut face grain plugs. I have been tempted to use dowels, but I have just not been willing to make the change.
