Just wondered if any other owners have had experience in gluing up MDF joints and what their experience was? Was not real happy with my results? All other applications worked great, but the MDF joint left a little bit to be desired in my opinion. Did I do something wrong, or is it just the nature of the material?

Randy, I'm no pro, but I have not had good luck using MDF for anything other than a flat surface. I try not to depend on the edges for anything. The edges will not adhere to glue very well. In addition, any wetness tends to distort them. The edges can be screwed with care; they tend to separate, distorting and weakening them. They might do better in a dado or slot. I really am a baby wood worker compared to so many others on this website, but when I was just a little fetus woodworker (ha ha) did build a book shelf using MDF. I did not rely (much) on the edges for joinery, but it does have exposed edges. These were sanded, primed and painted with several coats. They have done very well since they are waterproofed by the paint. The "tray" structure of the shelves help reinforce the weak MDF for strength, and are attached with screws to the side vertical solid wood member. Here's a picture. Thanks, Johnny B

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
