Kreg Owners' Community

My first project was a mail box for my fire dept. with 3 shelves. I painted all surfaces prior to using my Kreg Jig. My first mistake was drilling the bottom in the wrong place. So I made another piece and painted it, then put my pocket holes on the back. After joining all of my pieces I discoverd the wood plugs were too long. My project was already painted, so sanding a lot was not an option. So I sat down with my scroll saw and had to cut about 1/4" off the bottom. We are talking about 36 plugs, Not an easy task keeping your fingers out of the way. After they were all cut I put a little glue in the hole and a little on the plug. They fit very nice and my sanding was kept to a minimum. The ones that went in a little deeper I applied white wood putty to and this worked out great. After final sanding and painting you could not tell where the joinery was. Made me feel proud to be a begining wood worker. Next project will be the corn hole boards. Not exactly sure how I will be able use my Kreg tool, but I will figure it out. Thank You Kreg for a great system. If I can figure it out I may post a picture

On the Photos page type "cornhole" in the search box. One of the photos shows the underside with the pocketholes.
